Meet Dr. Calista, associate veterinarian here at Fire Mountain Veterinary Hospital!
Dr. Calista officially joined the FMVH Veterinary team in 2021, but she's been part of the family for much longer - basically since she could hold a stethoscope. From a young age, she knew she was destined for veterinary medicine (her childhood stuffed animals went through many successful surgeries). She started her career as a Veterinary Technician before leveling up with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in 2019.
A proud So Cal native, she living the dream with her husband, his three kids, and shares her home with a lively crew: Bubbles, the Rottie with a tennis-ball obsession; Bodhi the Boxer mix with a heart of gold; three feline overlords - Smokey, Chip and Jett, who graciously allow her to live in their home; and Severus Snake, her Ball Python who keeps things Slytherin.
When she's not saving lives or getting covered in fur (dog hair is her glitter), you can find her sketching, reading or tackling the trails off-road with her family. Her favorite part of FMVH? The incredible team, coffee orders from Black Rock and, of course, getting to love on everyone of her clients' pets as much as her own.
