Dr. Elizabeth Grey is a highly respected leader in the San Diego veterinary community with 39 years of dedicated service.
After briefly retiring in December 2025 to care for her mother and focus on shelter rescue, she has returned to practice part-time to continue connecting with local pet owners and their beloved companions.

- Education & Honors: Graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from San Diego State University (1982 Outstanding Graduate, Zoology). Earned her DVM from C. Davis in 1987, serving on the elite Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital Health Care team in the ICU.
- Practice Leadership: Became Owner and Hospital Director of Carmel Mountain Ranch Veterinary Hospital in 1994, leading the clinic for over 31 years.

Philanthropy & Military Support
Deeply connected to the military through her father (a WWII Navy Pacific veteran) and her husband Bruce (a retired 26-year Navy veteran), Dr. Grey proudly serves on the Board of Shelter To Soldier. This non-profit rescues dogs from high-risk shelters and trains them as psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 combat veterans. Her family's legacy of rescuing stray animals dates back to the 1950s and remains her lifelong passion.
Personal Life, Hobbies & Pets
- Family: Proud mother of two daughters. Sara is an MD currently starting her anesthesia residency at UCLA. Becca is an Indiana University (Kelley School of Business) graduate working in corporate supply chain management and M&A consulting based in Chicago and travels across the country.
- Hobbies: Growing up in San Diego, she loves the Southern California lifestyle, including sailing, diving, and off-road biking.
- Pets: Her current rescue family includes Phoebe (a 12-year-old Boxer), three cats (Tommy, Ari, and Duke), and a Paint horse named M n M. She continues to adopt, rehabilitate and then rehome dogs from Riverside and Los Angeles Kill Shelters.
