Dr. Gaias is a small animal general practice veterinarian who was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and earned her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona.
From a young age, Dr. Gaias knew she wanted to become a veterinarian and would spent a large volume of her time volunteering at animal shelters or playing with the neighborhood pets. Her first official role in the veterinary field was a kennel attendant and later became a veterinary assistant prior to and throughout schooling. Following veterinary school, she completed a rigorous one-year rotating specialty and emergency internship back home to advance her clinical skills. Dr. Gaias soon realized that general practice was her preferred medicine in which she moved back out west to beautiful Oceanside, California and became one of our hospital’s doctors.
Dr. Gaias is USDA accredited and Fear Free certified. In her every day practice, she uses low-stress handling techniques from her training in Fear Free care to provide a more calming environment for her patients and pet owners. She is highly passionate about preventative medicine in addition to urgent care needs.
Outside the clinic, she lives an active life focused on hiking, snowboarding, weightlifting, and running-including completing the 2024 Chicago Marathon. After a busy day, her favorite downtime activity is unwinding with her furry feline friend, Mazie.
