Dr. Vasilas decided at the age of three that she was to become a veterinarian!
While growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio and Kobe, Japan, much of her life revolved around animals in one form or another whether it was pet sitting, volunteering at a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center or working as a veterinary technician. In May of 2010, Dr. Vasilas graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and began her veterinary career in Temecula and then Oceanside, CA. She took leadership of Fire Mountain Veterinary Hospital in 2016. She is currently an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, California Veterinary Medical Association and the United States Department of Agriculture. Dr. Vasilas lives in Carlsbad with her husband, Ray and their dogs Berger and Walter. They enjoy spending time outdoors running, fishing, horseback riding on her horse Robbie and being with friends and family.
