Keeping your pet's healthcare accessible

We understand that finances play a central role in providing pets veterinary care, which is why keeping our services accessible is at the forefront of our decision making. Cost efficiency is a foundational belief of Fire Mountain Vet, as are transparency and client collaboration. We always present our clients with an itemized treatment plan prior to performing any medical treatments. This gives us the opportunity to discuss our suggestions and associated costs, and work together with our clients to finalize a plan moving forward based on what is feasible for each client's unique situation. Our goal is for our clients to feel informed and comfortable with their pet's treatment plan.

At our hospital payment is due at the time of services and for certain procedures, deposit is required. We accept cash and all major credit cards.

Our team prioritizes connecting our clients to helpful financial resources whenever applicable.

Financial Support

In addition to all major credit cards, our hospital also accepts both Care Credit and Scratch Pay, which are two financial institutions providing easy-access lines of credit for veterinary care. We also collaborate with FACE, a non-profit organization providing life-saving medical grants for patients with a strong prognosis. We strive to assist in removing financial barriers to veterinary care and are enthusiastic about collaborating with available resources.

Pet Insurance

Unexpected illness or injury is scary, especially when we are not financially prepared to provide the medical care they require. This is where pet insurance makes an impact. Most pet insurances cover around 80% of the veterinary costs associated with qualifying injury or illness!

Is there a rush to sign up?

We encourage all of our clients to acquire pet insurance for their pets right away, to maximize the benefits of their pet's plan. The longer you wait to purchase insurance, the more opportunity there is for illness or injury to occur prior to signing up, thus making those health concerns 'pre-existing' and therefor not covered under any insurance plan you acquire. Early sign up is key!

How do I choose a company? A plan?

Choosing a pet insurance company is a very individualized process with no 'wrong' answer. Every company provides something a little different in terms of coverage, deductibles, user platforms, etc., and it's about finding the right fit for you and your pet.

  • ASPCA
  • Nationwide
  • Pumpkin
  • Spot
  • Figo
  • Healthy Paws
  • Pet First
  • StateFarm

Which insurance companies do you work with?

Pet insurance differs from human health insurance in that typically there is no 'network', meaning any pet insurance can be used in conjunction with any veterinary facility. Here at Fire Mountain Vet we collaborate with any pet insurance company, however the claims process varies from company to company. Some pet insurance companies are streamlining the claims process to enable up-front coverage paid directly to your vet vs. after-the-fact reimbursement. Trupanion is an insurance company that provides this immediate coverage and we do accept Trupanion Express at our hospital.
